The store remained in the family for 52 years.

He retired after 42 years in the grocery industry to enjoy time with his wife, hunting dog Casey, and grandchildren.
Jim was an avid hunter from the age of 7. For the last nine years, he enjoyed hunting with his dog Casey as well as the comradery of the hunting environment, and hunted duck, deer, elk, pheasant, and abalone. He passed this love of the outdoors on to his children and grandchildren through time spent camping, fishing, abalone diving, and pheasant hunting.
