Parranga Mexican restaurant in Strawberry focuses on fresh ingredients and original recipes

Jose Miguel Smith is passionate about cooking, and he’s in his element as the chef at Parranga, the new Mexican restaurant located in the Strawberry Village Shopping Center. “When you like something, you know it; when you love something, you feel it; and when you’re passionate about something, you live it,” says Smith. At the Strawberry eatery, Smith, 32, partners with owner Eduardo Rallo and restaurant manager Emma Navarro to focus on using fresh ingredients and offering original recipes. All the tortillas, soups, salsas, dressings and pastries, plus several beverages, are made in-house. (Diane Smith photo)
