Longtime Tiburon councilmember, three-time mayor Fraser resigns


Following a two-month leave to deal with undisclosed personal matters, longtime Tiburon Town Councilmember and three-time former Mayor Jim Fraser has resigned from the board, effective immediately. Fraser submitted his resignation to the town Oct. 16 and did not attend the council’s meeting later that evening. In the letter, he said he and his wife, Diana, sold their home in April with the aim of downsizing and had not been successful in finding a replacement home in Tiburon. He also noted his family had “personal and private” challenges they needed to focus on. The town will hold a March 3 special election to fill his seat.
