After recent threat from boats, West Shore Road residents call for Belvedere to abandon bay agency


Angry residents of Belvedere’s West Shore Road are calling on the city to withdraw from the Richardson Bay Regional Agency, saying it has failed in its duty to keep runaway anchor-out boats from threatening their homes. Some 20 members of the West Shore Road Homeowners Association met Oct. 21 to discuss ways to pressure the agency, including legal action. Several members then drafted letters to the Belvedere City Council complaining that the agency had failed in its mission to administer the anchorage and urging the city to pull out. Residents are up in arms after a Sept. 24 windstorm drove at least six derelict vessels across the bay toward West Shore Road homes.
