Writer: Deirdre McCrohanDeirdre McCrohan

Reed Union School District parents who purchased discounted bus passes for the 2019-2020 school year will be able to request a prorated refund due to the coronavirus-related school closures. At its April 16 meeting — held by teleconference to comply with physical-distancing mandates — the Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Relief Joint Powers Authority board of directors, which runs the Yellow Bus Challenge program, voted 6-0 to allow parents to get a $105 refund for each one-way pass purchased or to donate the money back to the program. The refund is not automatic and must be requested online by April 27 via arkn.ws/YBCrefund.
