Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society seeks $50k for repairs at historic sites

The Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society has launched its annual fundraising campaign with a $50,000 goal to help preserve and restore local historic sites, including Old St. Hilary’s Landmark church, the Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum and the Art & Garden Center in Tiburon plus the China Cabin in Belvedere.

To reach the target, the nonprofit seeks $25,000 in private donations by Sept. 15. An anonymous donor has pledged to match that amount, doubling contributions to help the organization meet its goal.

This year’s projects include:

  • Old St. Hilary’s: A new roof for its freestanding bathroom, estimated at $3,500.

  • Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum: Restoration and repainting of its original tongue-and-groove walls and upstairs ceilings, estimated at $55,000.

  • Art & Garden Center: Replacement of its irrigation system and restoration of its Victorian birdhouse, estimated at $45,000.

  • China Cabin: Restoration of decorative “brightwork,” estimated at $1,500.
