Celebration, mourning in Tiburon as Hanukkah begins

Chabad of Tiburon’s Musical Chanukah Soirée on Dec. 14 at Fountain Plaza in downtown Tiburon, intended to celebrate the eight-day holiday that began at sundown and ends at sundown Dec. 22, took a somber turn as 15 people were killed — including a Holocaust survivor, a 10-year-old girl and two rabbis — and dozens were injured in a mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.
