Everyday Encounters: A couple celebrates over 50 years of marriage and shared adventures

Randall and Beverly Hawks, both 74 and wearing matching light blue jackets, sit outside the Waters Edge Hotel in downtown Tiburon on Oct. 7, reading The New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle’s Sporting Green section as they wait for their hotel room.

 

The Sea Ranch residents say they’ve long enjoyed visiting Tiburon and plan to spend several nights in town before returning to the unincorporated community on the northern Sonoma County coast bordering Mendocino County, where they’ve lived for roughly seven years.

 

“It’s just a very low-key, convenient, not spread out all over the place kind of place where you can come and go across the street to get dinner and come back,” Beverly says of Tiburon.
