The Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society has named Lynne Hayes its 2024 Volunteer of the Year for her dedication as a docent at the Art and Garden Center.

Hayes, 82, is a Marinwood resident and avid gardener who became a docent at the center three years ago on a suggestion from her daughter and grandchildren, who live in Tiburon.

After signing on to volunteer, she went to the library to learn the history of Tiburon and the garden. She now spends four hours every Sunday from May through October welcoming the visitors who stop by.

“I enjoy sharing the history of the cottage and the beauty of the garden with our visitors, and I like to sit in the garden and watch the sun sparkle on Richardson Bay,” she says.
