New principal brings public-school experience to St. Hilary

Waylon Miller has taught second grade, coached wrestling and run a public high school. What he wanted next, the new principal of St. Hilary School says, was a job that let him bring his faith to work.
“I wanted to work in an environment where I could blend both my faith and my career into one opportunity,” Miller says. “And work with students to continue to get the most out of them and show them pathways towards better learning and better life.”
Miller, 46, who lives in Fremont, has taken over as principal of the Catholic school on Hilary Drive in Tiburon, where classes started Aug. 24. He replaces Marie Bordeleau, who left at the end of September 2025 after 11 years in the job.
