The John Kalleen Group kicks off the fall season of monthly concerts at 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at Old St. Hilary’s Landmark in Tiburon. The quintet, led by trumpeter Kalleen, plays Blue Note-era jazz from the 1950s through ’70s. The style is named after the record label known for hard bop, post-bop and modernism.
