Pick of the Week: Tiburon country singer returns for concert at HopMonk

Tiburon native Lockwood Barr will be performing at 8 p.m. Aug. 9 at HopMonk Tavern in Novato. Barr moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University and has stayed, working as a songwriter, singer and studio musician, performing banjo, guitar and vocals. She has released three albums. The latest, “One Day I Will,” includes the song “Tornado Tree,” which was recently honored at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards in the Classic Country category. Barr was also nominated for best female vocals and best album. Also on the bill are Nashville native Megan Barker and Mill Valley native Caroline de Lone.
