Stephen C. Lynch

Steve was born in San Francisco, the sixth of 10 children born to Raymond and Lois Lynch of Tiburon. Growing up on the less populated side of the peninsula, Steve very early on developed a love of the outdoors and a passion for adventure that remained with him all his life. Fishing at Paradise Park, Sunday ballgames watching the Tiburon Pelicans followed by family swims at the Tiburon Peninsula Club and exploring every inch of the Tiburon Peninsula — the shenanigans and hijinks of Steve, his siblings and friends, remain legendary to this day.
After a short stint at College of Marin, Steve entered the electrical apprenticeship at the IBEW Local 551. With brothers Ray, Gregg, John, Brian and sister Eileen, they continued to build the Edward W. Scott Electric Co. into a thriving Bay Area-wide electrical contracting firm that was started by their great uncle, Edward Scott, and their dad and uncle, Ray and Leonard.
Steve’s fierce pride and joy were his children — Molly, Ryan and Corey. Steve coached many Little League teams and supported the TPC swim teams. He devoted 25 years of very active participation to the Tiburon Volunteer Fire Department, rising to the lieutenant’s position, the highest rank for a volunteer, responding with brothers Ray, Brian and Ed whenever needed.
Steve absolutely loved to fish, and enjoyed many, many years of camaraderie with his fellow anglers of the TAA, Tournament Anglers Association. Annual fishing trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii and British Columbia provided such enjoyment! Donner Lake was another favorite spot to fish; those early mornings out on the water feeding his soul.
Steve is survived by his wife, Joan; Molly, Cameron and Kaia Williams; Ryan and fiancée Parin Gallagher; Corey and Casey; and by his siblings Diane, Ray, Chris, Eileen, Gregg, John and Ed. He is predeceased by his sister Kathy and brother Brian. Steve was also dearly beloved brother-in-law to Jim Long, Larry LaFresnaye (d), Kim, Cheryl, Vicki and Alison Lynch, Shana Rohde-Lynch, Tom and Terry Slevin, Nancy and Skip Latno, Cindy and Dan Gallagher and Aileen and Eric Wormood. “Favorite Uncle Steve” is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews, and by Steve’s lifelong, loyal and truly beloved friend, Sam Ware.
The Lynch and Slevin families pray for empathy and a healing journey of hope for all those struggling with addiction. Celebration of Life to be held later this year.
We love you Steve — fair winds and following seas to you, “Fish ON”!
