Tiburon council OKs Little League block party and return of beer fest

Tiburon will shut down lower Main Street in March for Little League opening day festivities and a section of Paradise Drive in May when the Tiburon Beer Festival returns after a six-year hiatus.

 

And town officials say they want to see even more celebrations in the coming year.

 

The Town Council approved the March 13 and May 30 closures in separate unanimous votes at its Feb. 4 meeting. It also unanimously approved the creation of an ad hoc subcommittee to brainstorm additional community events, including a possible July 4 celebration honoring the nation’s 250th birthday and a Labor Day parade.

 

Subcommittee members Jack Ryan and Alice Fredericks said after the meeting that any event is open for consideration, and Fredericks said the subcommittee will be looking for community members in town “with brilliant ideas” to put something together.
