Tiburon council OKs long-term plan for parks and recreation

Tiburon has completed a long-term plan to guide use of the town’s parks system, with officials saying they hope to take quick initiative on making some of the smaller improvements identified in the document.

The Town Council voted unanimously at its Nov. 20 meeting to approve the parks, recreation and open space master plan, which took more than two years to craft. Councilmembers said they were pleased with the final product but were also looking ahead to implementation.

“As monumental as I think the master plan is in terms of its importance for our town, the real work will be next year, and it’s going to be important,” Councilmember Jon Welner said.
