The Marin Girls Softball 8U Tremors Black team won the 8U championship at the Sonoma Invitational on June 29, improving their summer-travel-season record to 19-2 in Northern California area tournaments.

With help from Tiburon Peninsula players Molly Engstrom, McKenzie Fleischman, Gracyn Gellert and Jennifer Marie Stewart, the squad went undefeated over the weekend, winning five straight games including four shutouts to capture their fourth championship in four tournaments this summer.

Local contributors were every bit as hot at the plate as the Sonoma Valley temperatures, with a combined 26 hits, 15 RBIs and 20 runs over the course of the tournament.
