Tiburon resident wins fair contest with iPhone shot

Jennifer Isaac had already finished her docent-led tour of the Marin County Civic Center when she turned back for one last look — and stopped.
“(I) was just struck by the shapes all over again,” the Tiburon resident says of the building, designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

She pulled out her iPhone, framed the arches from above and captured what she saw. A little routine editing later — converting to black and white, intensifying the contrast, cropping — and she had a photo. What she didn’t know was that she also had the top prize at the Marin County Fair.
The 71-year-old won for her picture, “Marin Civic Center Aspect,” in the cityscapes and architecture class for monochromatic fine photography at the fair, held July 1-5.
