Tiburon’s Persian New Year festival is March 30

Tiburon will ring in the Persian New Year March 30 with live music, dance and authentic cuisine at Zelinsky Park.

The second annual celebration of Nowruz, the Persian new year, is set for 3-5 p.m. in the park, a change from last year’s festival on lower Main Street. The free event is slated to include live DJing from Turker Yilmaz, whose sets include Persian music mixes and remixes; dance performances by Marin-based Tara Pandeya, a former principal dancer and soloist with Cirque du Soleil who is now an adjunct instructor of dance at Dominican University, the Niosha Dance Academy of San Jose; and the Marin-based Raaz Trio will play traditional Persian instruments at the event.
