A member of a grassroots parents group advocating for more parks amenities and a Tiburon native with ambitions to establish a kayak and stand-up paddleboard launch on the peninsula are the two newest members of the town’s Parks, Open Space and Trails Commission.
Corinthian Island resident Nicole Voss and Hill Haven resident Jonathan Kahn were appointed to fill two vacancies on the commission in a 4-0 vote at the Town Council’s April 15 meeting, with Councilmember Alice Fredericks absent.
Voss will serve a full four-year term, through February 2030; she takes over for Liz Judge, who did not seek reappointment when her term expired in February. Kahn will fill an interim vacancy created when Mike Ghaffary resigned in March following his appointment to the Reed Union School District board; he will serve the remainder of Ghaffary’s term, until February 2028, at which point he will be eligible for automatic reappointment to a full four-year term.
