Ex-general manager sues Strawberry Recreation District, alleging wrongful termination

The former general manager of the Strawberry Recreation District is suing the public agency for wrongful termination, alleging she was the target of gender discrimination and harassment from at least three current board members during her 10 years on the job. In the suit, filed earlier this month in Marin County Superior Court, Leanne Kreuzer alleges the district board declined to renew her contract last June as retaliation for Kreuzer complaining to board members and Marin County counsel about the district’s “disparate, sexist, hostile and harassing working environment,” including frequent sexist and critical comments from board member Jeff Francis and multiple instances of Francis, board Chair Pam Bohner and board Vice Chair Cale Nichols violating state law by strategizing about board business outside of public meetings. The district denies all allegations. (Elliot Karlan photo / For The Ark)
