Parents call for kid-friendly parks, neighbors skeptical of Blackie’s ideas

One group of residents is pushing Tiburon to include more kid-friendly amenities in its long-term parks plan, while another is asking the town to pull back on possible additions to Blackie’s Pasture.

 

The feedback was received by the Parks, Open Space and Trails Commission at its July 16 meeting, where a subcommittee consisting of members Chuck Hornbrook and Angela McInerney reviewed the progress of the parks master plan, which town-hired consultant WRT is working on, intended to guide the long-term use of Tiburon’s 70-acre parks and open-space system. That system includes the Richardson Bay Lineal Park system, which spans from Blackie’s Pasture to South of the Knoll Park and encompasses all of the Old Rail Trail and adjacent green space.

 

The Town Council is set to review a draft of the plan at its Aug. 21 meeting, setting up a parks-commission review of a final version of the plan in September and final review and approval by the council in October, commission liaison and Public Works Engineering Manager David Eshoo said.
