Crews shoring up Belvedere’s Beach Road seawall worked overnight for much of the last two weeks of October to catch low tides, a push to finish in-water work the contractor now expects to wrap up about Nov. 13.

Tracy Rittenhouse, who lives on Beach Road near Peninsula Road, outside the stretch of homes the city emailed notifications to, said backup beeps from construction trucks woke her at 10 p.m. Oct. 19 and continued until 2 or 4 a.m. each night that week through Oct. 24. She said no one told her the night work was coming.

“They should have alerted everyone who lives on Beach Road,” she said. “Noise doesn’t stop at an address.”
