The Ranch is first local public agency to mandate vaccine

Employees of Belvedere-Tiburon Recreation must be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the month under a new policy passed by the organization’s board — a first-of-its-kind mandate among public agencies on the peninsula that has already led to one resignation.

According to the mandate, passed by a 4-3 board vote in October, all full- and part-time employees of The Ranch must submit proof they are fully vaccinated — two weeks past their final dose of the two-shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine — to Executive Director Jessica Hotchkiss by Nov. 29. Proof of vaccination is also a condition of employment for new hires.

There is no option for regular testing instead.
