Reed district will focus on fencing to limit campus access


The Reed Union School District wants to make all three of its schools safer by limit- ing each campus’s entry points with new or improved fencing. The district’s board of trustees voted unanimously June 11 to go to bid on a con- tract for the work to be done at Reed and Bel Aire elementary schools and Del Mar Middle School. The move comes after the district con- ducted walkthroughs of its campuses with local law enforcement in March and April to assess the level of safety, said Chief Busi- ness Ocial Carlos Estrella.
