Southern Marin fire agency hopes to pass parcel tax


The Southern Marin Fire Protection District is asking district residents to help it maintain its current level of service and avoid future budget shortfalls by approving a $200-per-year parcel tax that would net the district an additional $3 million in annual revenue. Voters in the district’s boundaries — which include Strawberry and northern Tiburon — will have an opportunity to vote on the tax, known as Measure U, in the upcoming Nov. 6 election.
