Marathon meeting on Tiburon Peninsula Club expansion ends without decision


A four-hour public hearing on the Tiburon Peninsula Club’s proposal to make a junior tennis center out of its six lower courts and light them for nighttime winter play ended after midnight March 13 without a clear decision by the Tiburon Planning Commission. After hearing from nearly three dozen speakers — members of the club and residents of its surrounding neighborhoods mostly concerned with lighting and sound issues — the commission appeared headed for approval of the junior tennis center in concept. However, it had not reached consensus on the number of courts, or the days and hours they can be lighted.
