Burst pipe in Belvedere floods roads, knocks out water service

An April 18 water-main break at Beach and Cove roads released some 26,800 gallons of brownish water into the street in about 30 minutes, flooding a low area on Cove Road, leaving about 100 homes and businesses without water and reducing water pressure throughout Belvedere and much of southern Tiburon. The break, which was reported by a resident about 4 p.m., occurred in an 8-inch cast-iron pipe near 2 Cove Road that was installed in 1950. (Hannah Weikel photo / The Ark)
