Kemnitzer takes over as Belvedere’s new mayor; Campbell returns as vice mayor


Belvedere Councilmember Nancy Kemnitzer is the city’s new mayor, elected to her first term at the helm by her City Council colleagues on July 8, while Councilmember James Campbell will serve as vice mayor.

Bob McCaskill, who served as Belvedere’s mayor for the past year and presented Kemnitzer with the traditional mayoral sash, will remain on the council until his term expires at the end of next year. Councilmembers rotate yearly for the positions of mayor and vice mayor; the appointments are largely ceremonial.
