Del Mar students best their peers in regional Odyssey of the Mind meet


A team of Del Mar Middle School students earned a first-place finish against their peers from around the region in a competition designed to test kids’ creative problem-solving and critical-thinking skills — though the team’s quest to repeat that success in the state contest was stopped short by the coronavirus threat. The group from Del Mar was one of nearly two-dozen teams to compete in the Redwood Region Odyssey of the Mind tournament. The competition, held in February at Santa Rosa High School, was open to teams from Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties.
