Reed district schools delay five-day-a-week return to class

Students at Reed and Bel Aire elementary schools are now set to return to campus five days a week in mid-December, a month later than originally scheduled, while a similar return for Del Mar Middle School students is now temporarily on hold. At the recommendation of teachers and administrators who said they need more time to tweak coronavirus-pandemic safety protocols and prepare classrooms for full cohorts of students, the Reed Union School District has pushed the elementary schools’ transition from hybrid learning to five-day-a-week in-class instruction from Nov. 9 to Dec. 7. The current hybrid phase combines two days of in-person classes and three days of distance learning.
