Golden Gate district in ‘active’ talks to take over ferry service

Tiburon Peninsula residents, business owners and employees now have reason to be optimistic about the future of midday and weekend ferry service between Tiburon and San Francisco.


A spokesman for the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District has confirmed the district is making progress in negotiations to take over the off-commute and weekend runs from Blue & Gold Fleet, which announced last December it wanted to completely discontinue the service.


Paolo Cosulich-Schwartz, the district’s public-information officer, said in interviews over the past several weeks that the district was in “ongoing and active discussion” with ferry dock landlord ACV Argo Tiburon LP, a subsidiary of A&C Ventures, to take over for Blue & Gold.
