Muriel Hulsbus


Muriel Hulsbus, 67, previously of Tiburon, passed away unexpectedly March 14 of cardiomyopathy. Muriel was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, January 13, 1954, to John and Mabel Hulsbus.


Muriel was a warm, loving soul. She was very artistic and was a talented painter and writer. She was as comfortable in English as she was in French and Spanish. Muriel was known for her quick sense of humor and her witty intelligence.


She will be sorely missed by those who knew her. She leaves behind her mother, Mabel; her two children, Alexis Maingard of Paris, France, and Aline Maingard of Mexico City; their spouses Laura Maingard and Ulrick Noel; and three grandsons, Jan, Johan, and Lucas. She leaves behind as well her sisters and brothers-in-law Astrid and Steger Johnson of Belvedere, Leslie and Martin Hummel of London, UK, and brother Patrick Hulsbus of Tiburon. She also leaves behind her nephew, Blake Johnson of San Francisco, and her nieces Ashley Johnson and spouse Marshall Butler of Belvedere and their girls, Holland and Logan, and Sabrina Hummel of London and her sister Camila Hummel of Chicago. Muriel was predeceased by her loving nephew, Brandt Steger Johnson, both born on the same day.


An intimate ceremony was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
