Sharks win national title in water polo

The Tiburon Peninsula Central Marin Sharks under-12 coed team captured gold at the 2022 USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics last week, defeating powerhouse Skip Merced 10-8 at Stanford.


Led by captain, goalie and tournament MVP Ethan “The Wall” Wallace, with fellow Tiburon players Cammie Axelbaum, JJ Hendy, Alex Marron and Arianna Nikfar plus Belvedere’s John Watson, the team beat out 48 others in the largest age-group tournament in the U.S., held July 21-24 at pools across Santa Clara County.
