World Wrapps uses meal donations to serve first responders, families
Instead of furloughing dozens of employees when the Bay Area shelter-in-place order hit last month, World Wrapps co-owner and Belvedere native Matthew Blair decided to pivot his business to help both his workers and first-responders battling the coronavirus on the front lines. For more than a month, Blair, 52, has been accepting donations online and at his three restaurant locations in Marin, San Francisco and Santa Clara and turning them into fresh meals for hospital staff, police, firefighters, postal workers and others in need of assistance. “It’s just building on itself,” Blair said. “It’s a win-win-win … and that’s rare in business.”
