The Angel Island-Tiburon Ferry Co. has been named the Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year in recognition of its first-in-California effort to electrify its fleet.

Ferry company owner and Capt. Maggie McDonogh and her staff were to be honored by the chamber at a Nov. 12 event, held after The Ark’s press deadline.

McDonogh, who was previously named the Business Citizen of the Year by the chamber in 2014, called the latest recognition “utterly humbling.”

“I can’t even express my gratitude, and it’s just an amazing thing to be named like this,” she said.
