Barbara Ann Elliott

Barbara Ann Elliott, 86, of Tiburon, California, passed away peacefully at home on April 19th, surrounded by the family and community she loved.

Barbara was born on November 27, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ned (Edward) and Patricia Elliott. She spent her early childhood in Lombard, Illinois, before moving to Marin County during her elementary school years — a place that would remain close to her heart throughout her life. She went on to attend the University of California, Davis and Dominican College, beginning a lifelong love of learning and curiosity about the world.

Barbara was a strong and independent thinker, a devoted teacher, and a quiet but steady source of kindness to all who knew her. She believed deeply in the importance of education, compassion, and community. Her passions were wide-ranging — she loved to travel, cared deeply about animals, followed politics with interest, and was always eager to lend her time and energy to causes that mattered.

After a meaningful career in teaching at St. Hilary’s School, Barbara continued to give generously of herself through volunteer work with Marin Humane, the Belvedere-Tiburon Library, and Little Sisters of the Poor. She also embraced one of her most cherished roles — that of grandmother — with boundless love, warmth, and generosity.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Richard Wojcik, Erika Genolio, and Kirsten Wojcik; and her seven grandchildren, Ned and Sam Wojcik; Isabella, Anthony, and Olivia Genolio; and Finleigh and Keeley Levinson. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Thomas Elliott.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to Compassion Without Borders: https://cwob.org.

Barbara will be remembered for the way she made people feel — seen, valued, and cared for — and for her enduring love of learning, kindness, and life itself. Her presence will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who knew her.
