Everyday Encounters: Two friends from different corners of the world bond over new lives in Tiburon

The two women say the caffeinated meetups are a ritual of theirs, one that started shortly after their chance meeting in Tiburon.

 

Carpenter, 27, is a swim instructor, coach and lifeguard at the Tiburon Peninsula Club. She moved to town in November from Santa Clarita, where she lived with her parents and two brothers.

 

Rico, also 27, is studying communications at the College of Marin; she moved to Tiburon a year ago from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she lived with her mother and two sisters.
