Filmmaker, real-estate broker fills long-vacant seat on diversity task force

A filmmaker whose documentaries addressed abuse and social-justice issues will bring that background to Tiburon’s Diversity Inclusion Task Force, filling a seat that had been vacant for more than a year.

 

The Tiburon Town Council voted unanimously at its March 4 meeting to appoint Reedlands resident Theresa Tollini-Coleman, a real-estate broker and documentary filmmaker, to a one-year term expiring Feb. 28, 2027. She’ll be eligible for automatic reappointment to a full two-year term when hers and her appointed colleagues’ terms expire next year.

 

At the same meeting, the council voted 3-2 to reopen applications for one vacant seat on the Parks, Open Space and Trails Commission until April 9, with Vice Mayor Isaac Nikfar and Councilmember Alice Fredericks opposing. Just days after the meeting, a second seat opened with the March 8 resignation of Mike Ghaffary, who in February was appointed to the Reed Union School District board.
