Nickolaas McConnell Nichols

Nickolaas McConnell Nichols was born Feb. 18, 1984, in Marin General Hospital and grew up on the Tiburon Peninsula. He had a passion around reptiles, especially lizards. Nick enjoyed all sports, such as baseball, soccer and lacrosse.

He was extremely friendly and everyone who knew him will remember his magical smile that was contagious. At 6 feet 5 inches, his presence was strong and his kindness was unconditional. Nick was an avid volunteer as a crossing guard for the Reed Union School District.

Nick, as many young children did, enjoyed being at the arcade in Belvedere and befriended the Morrison family. For five years, he volunteered with them and his mother with Big Brothers Big Sisters to feed children in need in San Francisco.

He sadly passed away in San Francisco. Nick is survived by his son, Owen McConnell, who resides in Sweden; his mother, Pamela McConnell Douglass; his step father Stephen Douglass; his sister, NaTasha McConnell Nichols; and countless family members that will truly miss him. His family is working on a foundation in his honor.
