ARTalk on how fine art relates to cartooning

Matt Silady, a professor of comics at the California College of the Arts, will discuss how artists combine cartooning and fine art to reflect on and reinterpret contemporary culture during an ARTalk 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 16 at the Belvedere-Tiburon Library. A half-hour reception with refreshments will precede the presentation. The talk coincides with library exhibit “Art and Mass Culture: Commerce Meets Creativity,” on display through May 13. The exhibit focuses on the intersection between artistic expression and the visual language of mass production, featuring contemporary works influenced by pop art.
