Picks of the Week: Third annual Jewish festival at Zelinsky Park; Johnny Cash tribute for Concerts in the Park

Chabad of Tiburon’s third annual Tiburon Jewish Festival runs 1-4 p.m. Aug. 10 at Zelinsky Park behind the Tiburon Town Hall. Live music will feature Ferris Wheels, a Hasidic rock band that puts Jewish spins on popular songs, and the Sonoma County Klezmer Band, which plays traditional Eastern European folk tunes. The festival will include kids’ activities, arts and crafts, hands-on workshops on scribing and an “Ask a Rabbi” booth. Food will be provided by Hummus Bodega, serving hummus bowls and pita sandwiches, alongside wood-fired, dairy-free pizzas and kosher wines from Invei Wines. Belvedere’s next Concert in the Park features tribute performer James Garner singing the music of Johnny Cash at 4 p.m. Aug. 10 at Belvedere Community Park. Garner has been performing Cash’s music for nearly 20 years, including a show in Folsom State Prison to mark the 40th anniversary of Cash’s landmark concert there in 1968. Cash recorded 68 studio albums over his 46-year career, topping the charts with songs including “A Boy Named Sue” and “Ring of Fire.” Bee Gees’ tribute act You Should Be Dancing will return Aug. 31 for the final performance to close out the summer’s concert series.
