Reed district recognizes staff for classroom impact, support work

Del Mar Middle School librarian Ryan Sonneville does more than just manage the library, Principal Chad Stuart says, “he turns it into a space where everyone feels seen, they feel supported and they’re inspired.”

 

Sonneville brings passion and critical engagement to literacy, Stuart says.

 

“Ryan is incredibly thoughtful on how he lifts up everyone around him,” he says. “When he leads classes — and most of you at Del Mar have seen this probably, and would agree — he does it with pure, infectious enthusiasm.”

 

For his efforts, Sonneville was named the Reed Union School District’s Teacher of the Year for 2025-2026. He was among more than a dozen teachers, classified staff and retirees honored at the district’s annual Celebration of Education, held May 20 at Mill Valley Scout Hall.
