The Tiburon Fire Protection District’s $13.58-million budget in fiscal 2024 includes $2 million toward the planned remodel of Station 10 on Paradise Drive, with construction set to begin by the end of this year.

The budget, approved unanimously last month by the district’s board of directors, shows about $11.61 million in revenue in fiscal 2023-2024, which began July 1.

The district plans to use $2 million of a total $4.3 million loan from the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank in fiscal 2024 to cover the initial remodel expenses. The budget shows a slight surplus of about $27,000, which district Chief Richard Pearce said is because the district was given a pro-rated payment in the first year of the loan, which will ultimately be paid back over a maximum of 30 years.
