Gennady Sheyner
My role at The Ark
Gennady joined The Ark as managing editor in November 2026, and he helps lead the newsroom's coverage of Tiburon, Belvedere and Strawberry. If you have a tip, he's here for it.
Background
Gennady joins The Ark in November 2026 from the Palo Alto Weekly and Palo Alto Online, where he was editor-in-chief. Before that, he spent 16 years at the Embarcadero Media Foundation covering local and regional politics, land use, transportation, utilities, breaking news and crime in Palo Alto. He began his career covering breaking news and local politics at the Waterbury Republican-American, a daily newspaper in Waterbury, Connecticut. He lives in San Francisco, and when he isn't chasing news, he enjoys running marathons, reviewing books, eating churros and exploring S.F. Peninsula trails.
Our standards
