Golden Gate Bridge officials to host public workshops on toll increases

Starting next week, Golden Gate Bridge district officials will host five public workshops about plans to raise the price of crossing the famed span to as much as $8.75 by 2023 for FasTrak users as the district faces a $74 million five-year budget shortfall. That particular rate is part of an option that would raise $100 million for the district over five years, which would close the budget gap, fund an additional $3 million toward three years of increased transit services and make strides toward purchasing a new replacement ferry.
