Southern Marin and Mill Valley fire agencies to merge leadership

The Southern Marin Fire Protection District and the Mill Valley Fire Department have signed off on a two-year pilot program that will bring their leaders together onto one shared management team, bringing the agencies another step closer to total consolidation of services. The agreement, backed this month by both the Mill Valley City Council and the Southern Marin Fire District board of directors, establishes a program that combines deputy chiefs and fire marshals under a sole chief, Southern Marin Fire Chief Christian Tubbs.
