Major landlord waives April rent for Tiburon's downtown, Ark Row tenants

One of Tiburon’s biggest commercial landlords is waiving April rent for her tenants in an effort to soften the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which has hit small businesses especially hard. Laleh Zelinsky of Belvedere, who owns all of Ark Row, the CVS/pharmacy building on Tiburon Boulevard and the Vineyard Vines building and Water’s Edge Hotel on Main Street, notified her tenants she was making April a rent-free month. Tenants won’t be required to make up the payment later. While Zelinsky appears to be the only major landlord on the Tiburon Peninsula waiving rent, others have said they are reducing payments or working with tenants individually to help businesses get through the coronavirus pandemic.
