Belvedere will reopen Artist’s View open-space survey after methods criticized

A survey that sought feedback on Belvedere’s plans to build a pathway in Artist’s View open space — a strip of city-owned land on the island’s southernmost tip — will be reopened for additional input from residents after criticism of the survey’s methods. At a July 16 teleconference meeting of the Belvedere Parks and Open Space Committee, several Belvedere residents — including a few neighbors who vocally oppose development of Artist’s View and have threatened lawsuits — pointed out that the survey didn’t include information about the project’s cost or potential nuisance, and they argued the survey was sent only to a sampling of the committee’s friends.
