Belvedere watercolorist takes first at county fair

Watercolorist Jan Pinkston was scrolling through results from the Marin County Fair’s competitive exhibits, marveling over the entries from her peers at the painter’s collective she attends.

 

When she saw her own name on the list, she was ecstatic and excited, she says.

 

Pinkston, a Belvedere resident since 1987, took home first place at the fair, held July 3-7, for her “No. 129 Black Olive” watercolor in the “Barnyard Buddies” category, part of the wider fine-art and fine-craft division.
