Ranch instructor is charged with molesting child at same program in Sausalito

A taekwondo instructor for The Ranch has been charged with molesting a student at the same program he teaches for Sausalito.
Joshua Theodore Boyes, 35, of Richmond was booked into Marin County Jail March 5 on felony suspicion of sex offenses against a child younger than 14 after an investigation by Sausalito police and the Marin Sheriff’s Office. The Marin District Attorney’s Office filed charges the following day.
Bail is set at $100,000, and Boyes was due back in court for a bail-review hearing on March 13, after The Ark’s press deadline.
According to Sausalito police, the mother of the student reported March 3 that the alleged incident had occurred two days earlier at the Sausalito Parks and Recreation facility on Litho Street.
Police said when investigators interviewed Boyes, he admitted to the assault and was subsequently arrested.
Boyes, who operates Boyes’s ATA Martial Arts, contracts with Sausalito — where he started instructing just two months ago — and with The Ranch, Tiburon and Belvedere’s joint recreation agency.
